From Kartoffelhappen to Schweinemedallions: A German Gastronomic Adventure at Brotzeit

"Enjoy!" said the waitress after handing me my Schweinemedallions. I wanted to tell her that, "Yes, I will" because I will enjoy this for sure. Germany is a special place for me and lately, I've been craving for some German food.

It's not our first time at a Brotzeit restaurant but it is our first time dining at their Alabang West Parade branch. Upon entering the restaurant, I was immediately drawn to the warm and inviting ambiance, adorned with traditional Bavarian vibe (eyeing the beer steins display).

To kickstart our meal, we began with a classic crowd-pleaser, the Kartoffelhappen. These golden-brown potato wedges were the perfect balance of crispy and fluffy, seasoned to perfection. Served with ketchup, mayonnaise, and hot sauce, these addictive bites were superb.

We also couldn't resist ordering the traditional German favorite, the Brezn (Pretzel). It was fantastic!

I ordered Schweinemedallions because I miss my mom and dad, and back when we were in Germany, one of them would order this and I would always ask for some. Tee hee hee. This tantalizing dish of grilled pork medallions wrapped in bacon, accompanied by a generous portion of roasted vegetables and fries made my day. The tender pork medallions were cooked to perfection, with the bacon adding a smoky and savory twist to each bite. The roasted vegetables provided a refreshing contrast, and the fries were the right partner for this. Overall, this was a true delight for the senses.

Hubby ordered the Brotzeit Burger. Served in a homemade brioche bun, this artisan beef burger was a sight to behold. This was juicy and flavorful - had a bite. Or two. 😅

Kiddo ordered the Holzfaller-Fruhstuck (Breakfast of Champions). This dish truly lived up to its name as it featured a combination of German sausage, bacon, sunny-side-up eggs, baked beans, and toast.

To quench our thirst, we accompanied our meal with refreshing iced teas that provided a nice balance of sweetness and a hint of zesty freshness. Additionally, we couldn't resist trying one of their light beers, which offered a crisp and smooth finish, making it a fantastic choice to complement our German feast.

Love the attentive service from the staff. Overall, our dining experience at Brotzeit Alabang West Parade was nothing short of exceptional.
